Brandon FC Sends Condolences to the Fusion Futbol Family

With unbelievable sadness and grief we share with our Fusion FC and soccer family the loss of one of our own.  Damon Morris, was a friend, schoolmate, challenging opposing player and more recently a welcomed member of the U15b Blue Fusion team.  He is survived by his parents Kevin & Marisa and his younger sister, Devin.  He is happily pictured here with the team when they won the US Club Soccer Regional Championship in May (highlighted in the back row) and smiling in a photo he shared with his friends & family.  Please keep the Morris family in your thoughts and prayers!

The services to memorialize Damon will be on Thursday, August 12th at 7:00 p.m. at

Heritage United Methodist, 2680 Landmark Drive, Clearwater, FL 33761.  Click on the link of the church name above for their directions page.  This church is on SR 580 just west of McMullen Booth Road & Countryside High School.

The main thing we can offer from Damon’s family is that they do not want their son, Damon, to be forgotten and they knew his love for soccer.  They would love for the soccer players to wear their jersey to Damon’s memorial service.

We also hear that many people have asked what they can do for the Morris family.  The family has asked that in lieu of flowers or a collection for Damon’s funeral’s expenses, because of Damon’s love for soccer, they ask that any donations be made to memorialize Damon.  The Morris family have coordinated two memorial funds.  Payments are to be made payable as listed below and sent to their respective banks.  They are:

"Fusion FC - Damon Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund".  Families can make their donations at any Regions Bank branch or mail to Regions Bank, 6202 Commerce Palms Boulevard, Tampa, FL  33647.  The Morris family has asked that the funds be used to help players who are unable to play soccer without financial assistance.

Damon Morris Soccer Scholarship Fund.  Families can mail their donations c/o Seaside Bank & Trust, 5426 Bay Center Dr., Suite 175, Tampa FL 33609.

Please help us memorialize Damon Morris and allow his love for soccer continue by helping other players enjoy the game Damon loved so much.

Let’s keep Damon Morris and his family in our thoughts and prayers!
